Zeta Omicron #6

President & Treasurer

Why SAZ?

"I chose Sigma Alpha Zeta because of its deep commitment to multiculturalism and inclusivity. From the very beginning, I was drawn to how each sister is her own unique person, bringing her own experiences and perspectives to the table, yet together we form an eternal sisterhood that is both genuine and pure. The diversity within our sisterhood means that there’s always something new to learn, and it challenges me to grow in ways I never expected. I am endlessly grateful to be part of a community where I can truly be myself without fear of judgment, surrounded by these remarkable women who inspire me every day. It’s an honor to call them my sisters, and I cherish the bond we share as we continue to uphold the pillars and values that unite us <3"

Why SAZ?

“I didn’t feel like I belonged at UCLA and distanced myself from everyone. My roommate was interested in SAZ and I decided to tag along. I was very shy and did not want to be away from Jackie ΖΡ#7 during socials but I met Leslie ΖΡ#10 and I instantly felt a connection. I felt like I finally belonged somewhere. SAZ is everything I could ask for and I don’t know what life would be if it weren’t for the girls I can proudly call my Sisters."

Secretary

Why SAZ?

“I blindly joined SAZ because of my Big Manaya. My big and I knew of each other in high school, and she told me to check out the events that the organization was hosting for Rush. I enjoyed being able to meet my soon to be sisters. I appreciated how the girls would remember me and my name and be genuinely interested in getting to know me. Funny thing is that my big also became my roommate and not only we were getting closer, but I cannot imagine experiencing college and all that it has came to be because of her. SAZ aligns with my morals and values as a person, especially just emphasizing the importance of us women from different backgrounds coming together and being a difference for our future. SAZ has been shaping me into being reliable for others but especially for myself. Also I want to give current and future sisters a place away from home. I look forward to this year active floor and all that will come from it.”

Why SAZ?

“The reason I joined Sigma Alpha Zeta was to form deep, long-lasting friendships, as well as getting a better understanding of multiculturalism while being surrounded by inspiring women. My best friend, Gemma “Aila” Elenes Zπ #3, introduced me to SAZ and encouraged me to attend the rush events to support her. I never knew that by listening to Gemmita and opening that door to let myself be involved in Greek Life would lead me to all the amazing women I currently count on everyday on my life. Literally from the first rush event, to the last information, I knew Sigma Alpha Zeta was the right choice for me. Without having the support and the abundance amount of love I receive from these ladies, I wouldn’t have gone as far mentally and emotionally from where I’m currently at this moment, by upholding the pillars of our lovely sorority and uniting all of us as whole”

Zeta Rho #16

Co Fundraising Chair & MIGC Delegate

Why SAZ?

“I joined SAZ because of how warm and welcoming all of my sigmas were. I was initially very closed off and quiet, especially in the new college environment, but the first rush event I attended I immediately felt like I had found a place where I could form genuine connections with other motivated women. SAZ became my home away from home, and a place where I could destress and reset from my STEM classes. Not only this but I saw how each member had their own distinct goals, personality, and envisioned futures they were determined to reach. I strongly believe the people you surround yourself with defines you, and I knew I wanted to be defined by a group of strong, kind, determined, and diverse women that would push me to become a better person. I cherish each one of my fellow sigmas! I love them so so very much, especially my big and twin that I can always rely on <3.”

Why SAZ?

“Without knowing it, I had met my Big the day I decided to learn more about SAZ. I felt her warmth and the enthusiasm in her voice as she told me all about SAZ, from their pillars to their philanthropy. There wasn’t a single thing that didn’t catch my attention. Coming into UCLA I was frightened at the thought of being in a school where I knew no one but a single person. However, with SAZ I saw the love and support the sisters showed to one another and knew I had found what I was hoping for. It gave me my amazing beautiful twin that I love with all my heart. SAZ has already allowed me to grow stronger day by day and I cannot wait to see what is yet to come.”
