Herstory
Sigma Alpha Zeta is a Greek-letter collegiate sorority founded on the principles of multiculturalism, inclusivity, and empowerment. Our organization was established to support and uplift self-identified women of all cultures, races, and ethnic backgrounds.
Founded in 1992 at California State University, Fresno, Sigma Alpha Zeta was created by a group of women who recognized the need for a multicultural Greek-letter organization that would enrich the collegiate experience for women of color. Their vision laid the foundation for a sorority rooted in unity, cultural pride, and academic excellence.
On October 14, 2006, Sigma Alpha Zeta’s Zeta Chapter was established at the University of California, Los Angeles. With the guidance and support of sisters from our other chapters, Zeta Chapter has grown into a respected presence on campus. We remain committed to fostering strong sisterhood, prioritizing academic achievement, and serving our community with purpose and dedication.
